Buffy’s Xander Meet & Greet Party

Earlier in the year @NicholasBrendon “Xander” from Buffy came to South Shields in the UK as part of his #HappinessRunsAmok tour. This was just minutes from home, so Jamie and I were delighted to drop by and say hello again. 

We got to watch the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical together while Nicky sang along in the background, then a little karaoke to keep us all on a high. He recited some of his poetry and talked openly about darker times while still keeping us all thoroughly entertained. We had great fun, and Nicky was full of hugs to give out which was so sweet to watch as everyone got giddy after getting their squeeze.

I’m not such a hugger so hid out the way but Nicky made sure that I at least got a squeeze on the arm while I wasn’t looking. 😀 He came over to say goodnight at the end of the evening, but I should really apologise for physically spinning him around to make sure Jamie got his hug. 😛

The night was themed around a teen TV series, but it was definitely an adult night out. Some of Nicky’s poems are extremely dark… he has a real talent for the artistic stuff and is willing to expose the inner workings of his mind, but does not hold back at all on the dark stuff. Some still brought a smile though as he has quite a sense of humour.

He’s still touring, and is planning on visiting a select few venues including ours next year too, so be sure to sign up to his site and facebook page to keep up to date.
