Agent Carter: Season 1
Inspired by the film Captain America: The First Avenger, arrives a show focused around the Marvel comics character Peggy Carter. The first season is a short 8 episode run, but don’t let that discourage your watching. The show focuses on Peggy Carter trying to balance her role in the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), doing administrative duties and running top secret spy missions for Howard Stark.
Unlike its sister show Agents of Shield, this show isn’t particularly well-known or publicised. There were issues with networks showing it outside of America and in my opinion it wasn’t really given a fair shot. I say that because it is probably the better of the two Marvel shows, Hayley Atwell’s delivery of the character is flawless and stunning. If you weren’t in love with Peggy Carter before you soon will be. The action sequences are impressive and the story arc really is Marvel at its best.
