Chance: Season 1
Chance is a series based on Kem Nunn’s acclaimed novel. The thriller follows Dr. Eldon Chance, a forensic neuro-psychiatrist with more than a few skeletons in his closet. Dr. Chance meets an alluring and intriguing patient who brings him into the crosshairs of her abusive spouse (and corrupt police detective) which pulls him deeper into the cities criminal underbelly. Chance must navigate his way through a messy divorce, family issues and deal with the new situations he finds himself in.
This is a profoundly dark thriller that’s primary based on mental illness and is not exactly child friendly. Despite its subject matter and tone the series is rather entertaining and intriguing. The main draw to this show and the one thing that probably keeps the show afloat is Hugh Laurie’s outstanding performance as Dr. Chance. If you loved him in House then this is another show that’s for you.
